How can I tell if XRP is actually being used more?

Look at what happened on the ledger, not the price: successful payments, new accounts, swaps routed through XRP and institutional holdings, compared over like-for-like periods.
Successful payments beat raw transaction counts
Daily transaction counts include exchange bots placing and cancelling orders, self-transfers and spam. Orders and cancels are around half of all transactions, so doubling the count does not mean doubling real use.
More currencies make a neutral bridge more useful
With 10 currencies there are 10 × 9 ÷ 2 = 45 direct pairs. Building a market for every pair is hard; routing through XRP needs only 10 markets. The XRP Ledger inserts XRP automatically when that is cheaper.
So we watch whether non-dollar stablecoins like euro, real and Australian dollar coins are growing, and whether they convert cheaply through XRP.
Compare equal periods
Single days are noisy. We compare the latest 90-day average with the 90 days before for payments, new accounts and new-feature use, and show a 26-week sparkline.
