Unit 2 · Reading big moves

Is it risky if the top 100 wallets hold 30%?

  • 2 min read

Wallets are not people. Take out exchanges and escrow before judging.

1

One exchange wallet holds many customers

Many top wallets are exchanges, pooling many customers’ XRP. Top-holder percentages therefore overstate how concentrated individuals are.

2

Treat escrow separately

Escrowed XRP cannot move before its date. The holders page shows escrow separately and also gives shares of circulating supply.

3

One company may use many wallets

Conversely, an institution spreading XRP across wallets may not appear in the top list. Use the ranking as a rough picture and trust labeled wallets more.
